W. B. YEATS WALK – FRI 13 JUNE
Irish poet Niall McDevitt follows the Yeatsian trail in West London where Yeats lived as a child with his family, went to school at Godolphin, had a troubled friendship with William Morris, and a magical battle with Aleister Crowley.
McDevitt will offer a revisionist and risque ‘national poet’ who experimented with drugs inc. hashish and mescaline, performed ritual magic in the name of DEMON EST DEUS INVERSUS, was a consummate Londoner, and enjoyed a highly sexed semi-retirement in Holland Park.
This one is a bit special as the walk coincides with Yeats’s birthday, full moon and Fri 13. The walk will begin at 7pm. (Meeting at Turnham Green tube at 6.45pm). £5. Information: 07722163823
BEWARE OF EXPENSIVE IMITATIONS WITH THE MAGIC LEFT OUT!
